U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told CNBC “we expect to see some action soon” on fresh duties, without a public timeline, as Trump’s temporary 10% global tariff under Section 122 of the 1974 Trade Act is set to expire at 12:01 a.m. ET Friday. The comments follow an FT report that new levies could land this week and sit alongside USTR’s earlier proposal of up to 12.5% Section 301 tariffs on imports from about 60 economies over forced-labor claims.

Nvidia released the specs and benchmarks buyers need to evaluate Vera, its data-center CPU meant to sit beside its GPUs in AI servers and compete directly with AMD and Intel host processors. The company said Vera chips shipped to clients including OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX in June — extending Nvidia’s stack from accelerators into the general-purpose socket cloud buyers still fill elsewhere.
Alphabet launched Gemini 3.6 Flash (up to ~17% fewer tokens and lower per-token cost), Flash-Lite for high-volume workloads, and Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber for finding and patching vulnerabilities — initially limited to governments and trusted partners. The drop comes a day before earnings as Google races Chinese rivals on price and tries to answer Anthropic’s lead in security-focused models.

An SEC filing showed Nvidia owning about 9.3% of Amsterdam-based Nebius, the Nasdaq-listed AI compute provider Nvidia previously pledged $2 billion toward for joint infrastructure, fleet management, and “AI factory” work. Nebius has roughly tripled over twelve months on hyperscaler demand; the stake disclosure pushed the stock double-digits Tuesday morning.
Novo filed in New Jersey federal court claiming Lilly’s national ads use outdated trials that pit Lilly’s highest doses against lower doses of Wegovy and omit Novo’s newer high-dose approval, leaving consumers with a false superiority story. Novo wants the ads stopped, corrective advertising, and damages after Lilly refused an April cease-and-desist, and says it will seek a preliminary injunction if they stay up.
